GGSIPU, University of Ladakh sign deal to foster research and learning

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and the University of Ladakh (UoL) on Thursday signed an agreement to foster research and education programmes for students, scholars and faculty members.
Under this initiative, both universities will mutually plan and conduct lectures, workshops and conferences at the state, national and international levels, an official statement said.
With this MoU, the students will get opportunities to undertake field visits, trainings, internships, placements and many more. They will jointly undertake study and research projects, and collectively develop MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) and learning modules in the area of Information and communication technology, Entrepreneurship and value-added skill enrichment programmes for students, it said.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities was signed by the GGSIPU Registrar Dr Kamal Pathak and UoL Vice Chancellor Prof Surinder Kumar Mehta in the presence of Prof Mahesh Verma (VC) and Amit Sharma, Secretary, Rural Development/IT/S&T/Transport and Disaster Management, UT Ladakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Verma said, “A special MBA online course could be conducted for the working-class employees of Ladakh. UoL is the only Trans-Himalayan institute of higher learning and research, he added.
