Andaman allows some relaxations in COVID-19 restrictions for tourists

Port Blair, Nov 19 (UNI) In view of the steady decline in cases of COVID-19 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the SOPs issued earlier by local Administration regarding restriction in movement has been amended with immediate effect in South Andaman and N&M Andaman Districts, it was announced on Friday.
As per the amended SOP, the 50 per cent carrying capacity of tourists ferrying boat has been removed and now, the boat can operate with full capacity. Similarly, restriction on timing of visiting beaches has been reverted to pre-COVID-19 timings.
“However, even after the above changes, the tourists/ public should continue to follow COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour as issued by the A&N Administration and Government of India from time to time,” an official direction issued by Andaman and Nicobar Administration cautioned.
