I will not rest till poverty gets wiped out of the country: PM Modi

Nawada, Apr 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday declared that he would not rest till poverty is wiped out of the country.
Modi, in his second visit to Bihar within 72 hours, while addressing a massive public meeting here in favor of BJP candidate Vivek Thakur from the Nawada Lok Sabha seat in the ongoing parliamentary elections, said that his government had worked hard during the last ten years to improve the quality of life of the people. A number of welfare schemes had been launched to alleviate poverty and provide basic facilities to people, he added.
"I was born into a poor family; I fully know the pain suffered by poor families, so I will not rest till poverty is wiped out of the country," Prime Minister said, adding that a total of 25 crore people were brought above the poverty line by his government in the last ten years. The scheme for providing drinking water through pipelines to households, free rations to poor families, and Ujjwala Yojna had helped the people improve the quality of their lives, he added.
Modi said that 8.5 crore people were being given free rations every month in Bihar under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna launched across the country. Free rations would also be given to the poor for the next five years under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna, he promised.
As it is, Modi addressed a public meeting in Jamui in favor of NDA candidate Arun Bharti on April 4.
Bharti is the candidate of LJP Ram Vilas and the brother-in-law of party president Chirag Paswan.
