'Will not let Bihar go back to old era' : PM Modi

Aurangabad, March 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he 'will not let Bihar go back to the old era" and assured for development of the state, establishing the rule of law, and restoring the rights of women.
While laying the foundation stones and inaugurating various projects in Aurangabad, the Prime Minister kicked off the electoral campaign for the ensuing Lok Sabha election in Bihar.
Reiterating his commitment to the development of Bihar, Modi said that 'he would not let the state go back to the old era. To achieve this mission, the Prime Minister said that his Government would enhance the capacity of the poor, tribals, Dalits, and oppressed sections and would initiate all measures for their progress.'
He said in his third term, 'he would execute his guarantee for a developed Bihar where there would be a complete rule of law and the rights of women would be restored.'
The PM said that double engine Government in Bihar was rolling forward speedily and those who intended to rob it off were scared.
Lambasting at the family-oriented political parties, he said 'with the progress of NDA the family-oriented political parties were getting marginalized.' Without taking the name of any leader, he quipped that they were getting the power in legacy but were unable to muster the courage to speak about the deeds of their parents.
'The situation of family-oriented parties has deteriorated to such an extent that they were escaping from contesting the Lok Sabha election and trying to find Rajya Sabha seats for themselves.'
Modi during his address tried to connect with the people in the local dialect of Bhojpuri as well as Magahi.
Outlining the projects, the Prime Minister said the development projects worth Rs 21.5 thousand crore including road and rail infrastructure have been initiated which would pave the way for a strong and modern Bihar.
He said it is NDA that initiates the projects tp complete it and dedicate them to the people.
Modi said the foundation stone for Amas Darbhanga four-lane corridor, Danapur Bihta four-lane elevated Road, and Patna Ring Road in between Sheikhpura and Dighwara have been laid along with the 12 projects of Namami Gange.
The Prime Minister said Banaras Kolkata Expressway would minimise the distance between Uttar Pradesh from Bihar and the people could also reach Kolkata within a few hours.
Mentioning the consecration of Ram Lala in Ayodhya, Modi said that the people of the land of Mata Janki were naturally overwhelmed and had sent lots of gifts on the occasion to Ayodhya.
Outlining the immense tourism potential of the state, the Prime Minister said that 'the projects initiated in Bihar would bring a major transformation and would pave the way for its modernisation.'
'Earlier, people were scared of stepping out of their houses but now the situation has changed to such an extent that tourism is developing in the state,' the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains as well as Amrit Bharat station projects would boost the tourism potential of Bihar.
Without taking the name of the previous government Modi said Bihar was reeling under an atmosphere of violence, insecurity, and terrorism following which the youth were forced to migrate.
He said for the progress of the youth his government initiated several skill development programmes for them.
Modi also announced that a "Prime Minister Unity Mall" was being set up at an expenditure of Rs 200 crores where the local art and culture would get a new platform under one roof.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of the projects launched by the Union government in Bihar and said that 9 crore people were getting the benefit of Prime Minister Garib Yojna, 1 crore women have been given the benefits of Ujjwala Yojana, 90 lakh farmers have so far been given Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana under which Rs 22000 crore have so far been transferred into their accounts.
Earlier only two percent of houses were covered under the tap water supply scheme which has now gone up to 90 percent in Bihar where more than 80 lakh Ayushman cards have been provided to the people.
Modi also assured to complete the Uttar Koyal Jalashay project at the earliest which would provide irrigation in about 4 lakh hectare land area in 4 districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
Addressing the public meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said when Prime Minister Modi had visited Bihar on earlier occasions he had "disappeared" but now has again come back.
Nitish Kumar said that now 'he was with NDA and assured that he will continue with it in the future and would not go anywhere else.'
Kumar pointed out the achievements of the NDA government since 2005 in Bihar and hoped that the Prime Minister would make the state as most developed territory which would flourish economically in the future.
The CM said 'he would accord the credit for the development of Bihar to the Prime Minister and expressed his confidence that the NDA would get more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha election.'
