PM Modi hits out at TMC govt for corruption and nepotism

Krishnanagar, Mar 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday slammed the TMC-led government in West Bengal for indulging in corruption, nepotism and its reluctance to uplift the people of the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Krishnanagar, Modi expressed his concern over the functioning of the state government and said people were disappointed over the governance of the state government and betrayal of trust.
He said there is corruption in every scheme of the central government be it in the Ration (PDS), health, and education meant for the poor people. He said 25 lakh fake job cards were issued in the state.
The Prime Minister said during the last two days he had dedicated projects worth over Rs 22,000 crore for the development of West Bengal.
Modi said the ruling party in the state virtually tainted the image of West Bengal as it converted every scheme into a scam to make money." TMC put a sticker on the central schemes and called them their schemes. They even do not hesitate snatching the benefits from the poor."
He said the TMC government wanted to keep the people of Bengal poor and see them suffering as they did not implement many central schemes in the state.
Incidentally, Krishnagar Lok Sabha seat is vacant now as TMC MP Mahua Moitra has been expelled from the Lok Sabha for her involvement in cash-for-query allegation.
The PM alleged that the first AIIMS hospital at Kalyani in Nadia was under the cloud as the state government was demanding Environment Clearance.
"In Bengal under the present regime, priority is commission then permission," Modi said expressing concern about AIIMS hospital at Kalyani.
The TMC government is creating obstacles to the establishment of AIIMS in the state. The BJP is committed to improving the health care services in the state.
He also pointed out that the criminals here decide when to roam free and when to surrender before the police.
The PM said because of the efforts of the BJP leaders, Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by the police over an attack on officials of the ED and multiple allegations of land grab and sexual assault levelled by villagers of Sandeshkhali.
He said the state government had ignored the plight of Sandeshkhali's poor people and shielded the perpetrators of crime.
Modi urged the people to vote this time for BJP to change their future and to ensure that all 42 Lok Sabha seats are won by the BJP candidates.
