MP: 12 dead as van collides with motorcycle in Mandsaur

Mandsaur, Apr 27 (UNI) Twelve people died when a van hit a bike and fell into an open well in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district on Sunday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said.
Announcing the death toll, Yadav announced a compensation of Rs two lakh each to the kin of each of the deceased.
The police sources said one more person was injured in the accident that occurred near Kacharia Chowpatty of Naraingarh police station area.
According to the police, around 10 people travelling in the van were on their way to Mata temple in Neemuch district. The tragedy happened when the van collided with a motorcycle and fell into an uncovered well in the roadside field.
The deceased included the motorcycle rider and a man who went into the well during the rescue operation..
The injured man is under treatment to the district hospital.
After the incident, top officials of the district and police administration have reached the spot.
Yadav also announced Rs one lakh for each of the seriously injured, and Rs 50,000 to those with minor injuries from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. UNI XC GNK SSP
