MI win toss, elect to bowl against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 27 (UNI) Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 8th match of the IPL 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Wednesday.
Among the replacements announced by both the captains, noteworthy was Travis Head who made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad after he was replaced with Marco Jansen. Jaydev Unnadkat came in for T Natarajan who is suffering from a niggle.
On the other hand, Hardik announced the replacement of Luke Wood with Kwena Maphaka. Speaking at the toss, Hardik believed the pitch was favorable and reflected on their performance in the last game, acknowledging they didn't plan effectively, which led to a loss.
He also maintained optimism for the remaining games in the tournament and emphasised the importance of consistency and spoke about spending time with his teammates to build camaraderie.
On the other hand, Cummins expressed contentment with the wicket conditions and stated that it is a
challenging tournament, but factors like the spectators and conditions will be beneficial. He also emphasised the importance of the entire squad giving their best.
With both teams having lost their opening encounters, there certainly is a lot at stake for them to bounce back and secure their first win of the season.
The home advantage has been significant so far in this IPL, with all matches being won by the home teams.
However, the hosts have historically struggled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, which adds an extra layer of challenge for them. But, it also provides an opportunity to change their fortunes this season and delight their fans with a strong performance. UNI BDN
