Meghalaya CM seeks people’s mandate to re-elect Agatha Sangma to LS

Mahendraganj, Mar 27 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday sought people’s mandate to re-elect incumbent Lok Sabha member Agatha K. Sangma for the fourth term.
Addressing multiple election meetings in different areas of Salmanpara, namely Gopinatkilla and his ancestral village Chapahati, Sangma tried to strike a chord with the electorate, banking on his father's (L) PA Sangma’s legacy.
“As Chief Minister, when I travel to Delhi, I get recognition because of my father’s contribution to politics. My sister Agatha Sangma has been MP of Tura Lok Sabha for three terms, and she has been articulating concerns of not only Meghalaya and Northeast but of the indigenous people and Christians,” he said while stating that leadership in Delhi has given due weightage to her voice.
