Mamata inaugurates 30th Kolkata International Film Festival

Kolkata, Dec 4 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday inaugurated 30th Kolkata International Film Festival.
Also present were veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Bengali superstar Dev, former cricketer Sourav Ganguly, among others.
Banerjee said, " In the words of Satyajit Ray, 'Cinema's characteristic forte is its ability to capture and communicate the intimacies of the human mind.' It is a universal language that binds us all. "
"Cinephiles from across the state eagerly await the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) every year. Today, I had the privilege of inaugurating the 30th edition of KIFF at the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium, in the presence of luminaries like Chairman Goutam Ghose, and eminent personalities like Shatrughan Sinha and Sourav Ganguly, " she added.
This festival has grown to become a beacon of artistic expression, nurturing regional cinema and fostering an appreciation for world cinema, she stated.
KIFF is a platform that connects people, offering them the chance to explore and embrace the profound power of film, she further said.
"With your passionate involvement, I am confident KIFF 2024 will be a resounding success," Banerjee averred.
