Bengaluru, Dec 1 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that the state's stand on border issue is constitutionally and legally valid, and Maharashtra's application in the Supreme Court is unmaintainable.
"The stand of Karnataka has been that the application filed by Maharashtra is not maintainable and the same will be argued in the apex court by the advocates representing Karnataka. Our stand is constitutionally and legally valid, and all these factors will be explained to court by our advocates," he told reporters.
Bommai made these comments after garlanding the statue of late chief minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah on the occasion of his death anniversary.
Replying to a query, the CM said no rowdy will be inducted into BJP, and permission will not be given for such things. There is no question of change on this stand.
Reacting to State Waqf Board Chairman's statement that the opening of separate colleges for the Muslim girls, Bommai said this has not been discussed at the government level and it may be a personal opinion of Waqf Board Chairman.
"This is not the state's stand and the chairman must discuss with the government before making such a statement," he stated.
