Kharge slams PM Modi for distorting Cong manifesto

Kharge slams PM Modi for distorting Cong manifesto

Channapatna, April 22 (UNI) In a fiery speech delivered during a public meeting here on Monday, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of distorting the promises mentioned in the election manifesto of the Congress.
He emphasised that the commitments outlined in the Congress manifesto are designed to benefit all citizens of India, irrespective of their community, and not tailored for any specific group.
"PM Modi criticises our manifesto but the guarantees announced in it don’t say that it is meant for Muslims, Hindus or any particular community. They are for all the citizens. As the country's Prime Minister, speaking ignorantly does not behoove Modi ji." he said, addressing a rally ahead of the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in the state to be held on April 26.
Modi during the day reiterated his stance, accusing the opposition party and the INDIA bloc of targeting people's earnings and property. He stated that the Congress government would distribute the nation's wealth among "infiltrators" and "those who have more children."
Responding to the BJP's criticism of the Congress party's absence at the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Kharge allegedPresident Droupadi Murmu and her predecessor Ram Nath Kovind were excluded from the Ayodhya ceremony and the inaugural function of Parliament because of their "caste".
"PM Modi says though we invited Congressmen to Ayodhya they never turned up. They are showing disrespect to God. But why have you not invited our President? You have not invited the first citizen of the country even to the inaugural function of the Parliament," he complained.
Kharge further accused the BJP of neglect in displaying Babasaheb Ambedkar’s photograph in their offices and not hoisting the National Flag in their party office for years.
Kharge urged people to vote for the Congress to safeguard democracy and the constitution. He cautioned against giving the BJP a 2/3rd majority, suggesting that it could lead to changes in the constitution. UNI BDN SSP
