Kerala: Elephant dies after train hit in Palakkad

Palakkad, Apr 13 (UNI) A 30-year-old wild female elephant, that was undergoing treatment after bring hit by a goods train while crossing the railway track, died on Saturday.
It was on April 10 that a goods train bound to Hyderabad from Olavakkode hit the jumbo from the rear side, .
Following the accident, the Jumbo's hind leg suffered serious injuries and was unable to move . Later the forest officials housed the jumbo in a temporary shelter at the forest region near Kottekad railway station, and provided life saving medicines and foods and water since April 11 morning.
