Karnataka faces GST injustice: Dinesh Gundu Rao

Mangaluru, Nov 1 (UNI) Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Friday voiced strong concerns over the financial challenges facing Karnataka, attributing these hardships to a perceived lack of fair distribution of Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue by the central government.
Speaking at the 'Karnataka Rajyotsava' celebrations, Rao criticised the current revenue-sharing mechanism, arguing that Karnataka, despite being the nation’s second-largest GST contributor, has not received an equitable share from the Finance Commission.
"The power to impose taxes tailored to our state’s needs has been removed under the GST system, putting us at a disadvantage," the minister, who also oversees Dakshina Kannada district, said. "No state should be subject to such financial injustice."
