Janata Dal (Secular) Maharashtra unit opposes alliance with BJP

Kolhapur, Oct 1 (UNI) The Janata Dal (Secular) Maharashtra unit on Sunday opposed any alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and criticised party chief and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda's decision to ally with the saffron outfit in Karnataka.
In a press release, Pratap Hogade, the national working committee member of JD(S) said that a meeting of the committee members and district presidents held in Pune on Saturday, "strongly opposed and condemned" the decision of to form an alliance with BJP.
"It was a unanimous, clear and firm stand that Maharashtra JD(S) will never participate in any such alliance or decision under any circumstances and the various state organisations of the Janata Dal have also started a collective thinking process about the alliance.
