Paris, June 5 (UNI) Finally Ons Jabeur succeeded in breaking the jinx of not reaching the French Open quarterfinals by thrashing America's Bernarda Pera 6-3, 6-1 on Court Philippe-Chatrier here on Monday.
Pera made the more nervous start as she had not made it to this stage of the Grand Slam. She was broken in the opening game which set the tone for the first set.
But, Jabeur capitalised on it to take 2-0 lead and continued, and convincingly broke in 34 minutes, and it was not until the third game of the second set that she finally brought an end to nine successive breaks.
