Jammu, June 6 (UNI) Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dr Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday said tthe security scenario has improved after the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
“After abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed impressive improvement in security scenario and fast-paced progress in the region, thus resulting in improved investments in the multiple sectors,” the Minister said addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters here in the context Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed Central government completing nine years.
“While it was claimed that the 21st century is of Asia, this narrative has now been changed, projecting India as the sole claimant of the 21st century,” he added.
“In 2014, we were the 10th largest economy and in these 9 years of good governance, we have improved ourselves to be in the 5th position in the world; and we are poised to become the 3rd largest economy in the world in the coming few months,” he added.
Stressing on the major development projects in Jammu and Kashmir, Puri said that Banihal-Qazigund tunnel has reduced the travel time by several hours, two AIIMS for better healthcare facilities, many new hospitals, tourism development in all the regions including religious tourism, 10 thousands job creation in Jammu Lok Sabha segment, Ujjawala, social security scheme and many other beneficial schemes have contributed a lot to the development and welfare.
