Jammu, Dec 1 (UNI) Senior Congress leader from Jammu and Kashmir and DDC member Surankote, Shahnawaz Choudhary met national President Mallikarjun Kharge and discuss political issues of the region and party's organisational affairs.
JKPCC Gen Secretary Shahnawaz Choudhary as per the handout issued here, discussed important ongoing political issues of Jammu and Kashmir with Kharge.
Shahnawaz congratulated Kharge on his recent appointment as All India Congress President and discussed matters pertaining to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and apprised the President of the local issues and needs.
He also explained that 'Kharge Ji's initiative to know and understand local issues will help the party build a better mechanism and strengthen the organisation in Jammu and Kashmir' and he had sought to highlight major issues of J&K in front of the national leadership.
Shahnawaz raised both political and people-centric issues during his visit, attention and work on which will lead to betterment of the party and the people alike.
He also expressed gratitude to the Congress President for his time and interest in hearing the burning concerns regarding political development in particularly Jammu and Kashmir. Choudhary stated that due to the absence of an elected government, the UT lacks in various accounts and the Former Minister gave his inputs on two fronts, for internal and fundamental strengthening of the Congress party itself within Jammu Kashmir and its organisational framework, and two on the party's relationship with the people.
Choudhary said that the meeting with the Congress President was fruitful as he was able to share inputs from Jammu and Kashmir directly to the top leadership so that areas of improvement can be recognised and a comprehensive plan of action can be devised to tackle the local problems unique to J&K.
