It is a no go for talks with ULFA: GOC in Chief of Eastern Command

Guwahati, May 16 (UNI) GOC in Chief of Eastern Command Lt. General R P Kalita on Monday said that the recent activities of the banned outfit ULFA (I) have left very little room for peace talks with the center.
“ We are conscious of the fact that there has been an increase in recruitment by the ULFA and recent activities of the outfit and its command in chief Paresh Barua suggest that it is a no go for talks,’ Kalita said, adding that the insurgent movements in the North-Eastern region have lost popular support.
Kalita added that most of the people who have joined the outfit in recent times are all with a criminal background and there is no resurgence in the support base for the outfit.
