India rejects China's 'vain and preposterous attempts' at renaming Arunachal Pradesh places

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) India today slammed China for its “vain and preposterous attempts” to name places in Arunachal Pradesh, and rejected the move saying such creative naming will not alter the reality of the North East state being an integral part of India.
The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, said in a statement,
“We have noticed that China has persisted with its vain and preposterous attempts to name places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Consistent with our principled position, we reject such attempts categorically.
“Creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.”
China’s move came after Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday held his cabinet Meeting at Kibithu, the last outpost along the India-China (Tibet) border in the state’s Anjaw district, as part of his government’s ‘Cabinet Aapke Dwar’ concept.
Beijing's latest attempt at renaming places in Arunachal Pradesh, which it considers as South Tibet, also comes after the Indian air force heavily damaged Chinese-origin long-range, surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems during its bombing of Pakistani air bases. These Chinese made systems were considered the backbone of Pakistan’s layered air defence network.
Pakistan's HQ-9 system, developed by China, is designed to intercept aircraft, cruise missiles, UAVs, and tactical ballistic missiles.
