Historic success: ISRO chief on SpadeX docking in 15 days

Bengaluru, Jan 16 (UNI) In a remarkable testament to extraordinary dedication and technical brilliance, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a historic milestone by successfully docking two SpadeX satellites, SDX-01 and SDX-02, in the last 15 days of relentless effort.
This significant achievement further underscores India’s growing stature in the global space exploration arena.
Addressing his team following the success, new ISRO Chief V Narayanan expressed heartfelt congratulations. “First and foremost, my heartfelt congratulations to each one of you. You (ISRO scientists) are the pride of our nation. Today, we achieved a remarkable milestone. The mission successfully injected the satellite into the required orbit with a velocity of 28,400 km/h, all within just 30 minutes and 13 seconds. This is truly a testament to the last 15 days of outstanding dedication and excellence,” he said.
The docking of SDX-01 and SDX-02 marked a historic milestone for India’s space programme, demonstrating exceptional precision and technological prowess. The mission achieved an orbit injection velocity of 28,400 km/h in a record 13 seconds, a feat hailed as groundbreaking and reflective of ISRO’s commitment to innovation.
Highlighting the broader significance of the accomplishment, Narayanan noted, “Today marks a historic achievement, not just for us but for the entire nation. This success lays a strong foundation for our future missions, including Chandrayaan-4 and other lunar explorations. Let us dream big and work together to achieve breakthroughs like docking in space. Together, we have made this dream a reality. Congratulations once again!”
Though the premier space agency accomplished the SPADEX mission on 16 January, ISRO shared a celebratory video on Friday, showcasing the efforts and dedication that went into this success.
This achievement is yet another step forward in ISRO’s journey of technological advancement, setting the stage for ambitious future missions. It not only reinforces India’s position as a leader in space exploration but also inspires confidence in the nation’s ability to undertake complex challenges in the ever-evolving field of space technology.
