Himachal voluntary organisation concerned over impact of drugs on election

Shimla, April 23 (UNI) Expressing concern over the allure of drugs impacting the electoral process, a voluntary organisation Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti on Tuesday stressed the urgent need to curb the scourge of drug abuse during elections.
In a memorandum to the Election Commission, the organisation called for concerted effort to preserve the sanctity of democracy and ensure fair electoral practices.
The memorandum, signed by representatives from various grassroots organisations across the state, expressed "grave concerns over the detrimental impact of drug allurements on the electoral process, particularly among the youth".
