Hamas leader assassinated by firing short-range projectile

Tehran, Aug 3 (UNI) Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh by the Israeli regime was carried out using a short-range projectile with a warhead.
The IRGC made the announcement three days after Haniyeh was assassinated in his accommodation in northern Tehran, hours after he attended the inauguration of Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian, IRNA news reports.
Investigations have shown that the terrorist operation was carried out by firing a short-range projectile with a warhead of about 7 kilogrammes, which caused a strong explosion, the announcement said.
