Gujarat Polls: 34.48 pc turnout recorded till 1 pm

Gandhinagar, Dec 1 (UNI) Polling for 89 seats in 19 districts of Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat in the first phase of assembly elections in Gujarat began at 8 am on Thursday amid tight security and recorded 34.48 per cent voter turnout in five hours so far.
The Chief Electoral Officer's office said the work of calculating and compiling the percentage is still going on.
The estimated voter turnout trend till 1 PM is 34.48 per cent.
Highest 46.35 percent polling was recorded in Tapi district, 46.22 in Dang, 46.13 per cent in Narmada, 39.13 in Navsari, 38.61 in Morbi district, 35.99 per cent in Gir Somnath and the lowest in Porbandar 30.20 per cent.
