Govt to make changes to Maha Civil Service Rules regarding use of social media: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in the Legislative Council on Wednesday that the Maharashtra Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1979, will be amended in next three months, keeping in view the changing times and the growing influence of social media.
While replying to an interesting suggestion made by members Dr Parinay Phuke, Praveen Darekar and Vikram Kale in the upper house about increasing use of social media by government employees, he informed that when the Maharashtra Civil Services (Conduct) Rules were framed, social media did not exist then and therefore, there was no mention of use of social media in it.
However, the Chief Minister said, keeping in view the changing times and the growing influence of social media, these rules will be changed in next three months.
