Gill, Rohit fail to impress in Ranji Trophy

Bengaluru, Jan 23 (UNI) India's batting stalwarts Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma failed to make an impression in their respective Ranji Trophy encounters, raising questions about their form as the national team gears up for crucial international fixtures.
Shubman Gill, representing Punjab, continued his lean patch, scoring just four runs against Karnataka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.
After a disappointing run in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he managed only 93 runs in five innings, Gill’s struggles persisted in domestic cricket. Although he began with a boundary off Abhilash Shetty, he was caught behind while attempting to counter Shetty’s consistent line.

Bengaluru, Feb 17 (UNI) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) put up a disciplined bowling and fielding effort to bowl out Delhi Capitals Women (DCW) for 141 in 19.3 overs in their Women’s Premier League (WPL) clash here on Monday.
DCW got off to a promising start, with Jemimah Rodrigues leading the way with a fluent 34. However, the momentum shifted drastically after the powerplay as the Capitals slumped from 60/1 to 105/6. Spinners Georgia Wareham and Ekta Bisht played a pivotal role in RCB’s fightback, stifling the middle order with crucial breakthroughs.
Barring a couple of missed chances from Kanika Ahuja, RCB were sharp in the field, ensuring pressure remained on the DCW batters. Pacer Renuka Singh, in a mid-innings interview, noted that the surface was holding up and appeared on the slower side, making stroke play difficult.
