Four killed as mini bus rams into stationary bus in Barabanki

Barabanki (UP), Feb 16 (UNI) Four persons were killed and more than 15 were injured when a tempo traveller full of devotees rammed into a stationary bus in the Loni Katra area of Barabanki district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place on the Purvanchal Expressway this morning when the tempo traveller from Maharashtra going to Ayodhya from Prayagraj Kumbh rammed into the stationary bus going from Chhattisgarh to Ayodhya. "While four persons were killed on the spot in the incident and more than 15 were injured," they said.
Police sources said that the local villagers and police together pulled the injured out of the bus. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Kumar Singh along with Loni Katra police reached the spot and launched relief and rescue work.
Police sources said that the injured were admitted to Gosaiganj Community Health Centre in Lucknow, whereas some have been referred to Trauma Centre in critical condition. "Those, who died on the spot, included Deepak, Sunil and woman Anasuya, all residents of Nanded in Maharashtra," they said.
Police sources said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the mini bus was moving at a very high speed and possibly the driver did not see the bus standing ahead. "The police are also investigating whether the driver had dozed off," they said.
