Four criminals injured in encounter

Kushinagar (UP), Dec 1 (UNI) Four members of an inter-state gang were injured during an encounter with Patherwa police in Kushinagar district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that acting o0n a tip off a trap was laid near Matluk Chhapar village. "Early morning the police team spotted an SUV and when asked to stop the criminals opened fire on the police team. In retaliatory firing all the four criminals sustained bullet injuries and were arrested," they said.
Police sources said that the arrested criminals have been identified as Iqbal Qureshi, Khalid Ali, Ezazul Haque and Ikram. "Except Iqbal, who is a resident of Kosi Kalan in Mathura district, all three criminals are residents of Haryana. There are several cases of loot, dacoity and cow slaughter lodged against the arrested criminals in different police stations in several states," they said.
