Fire damages Shrine in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 19 (UNI) A fire incident damaged the shrine of revered saint Hazrat Baba Naseeb-u-Din in Srinagar’s Eidgah area during the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday, officials said.
Fire and Emergency Service officials said that a fire broke out at around 1.40 am in the shrine at Sangam Eidgah, causing partial damage to the structure.
Several firefighting engines were rushed from the city centre to douse the leaping flames.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, they said.
Meanwhile, a large number of people, including women, hit the streets of the Eidgah area on Wednesday, alleging “sabotage” and demanding a probe into the incident.
