Ensure displaced voters return by June 25, HC tells WB govt

Kolkata, June 21 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court on Friday asked the West Bengal government to ensure that voters and other people who fled homes, allegedly due to fear of attacks after the declaration of Lok Sabha election results, return safely by June 25, said a lawyer present in the proceedings.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya also directed police to take steps to prevent recurrence of violence, the lawyer said.
The court was hearing a petition seeking extension of the posting of central forces which were sent to the state to boost security for Lok Sabha elections, said advocate Priyanka Tibrewal.
