DyCM Shivakumar, Minister responsible for securiy lapse at Deve Gowda meeting : JDS

Tumakuru, April 16 (UNI) The JDS on Tuesday held Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Minister Rajanna for the scurity lapse during a meeting at Kunchitiga Samudaya Bhavana on April 15, which was attended by former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
In response to this security lapse, the JDS has sought an urgent action against the police officials and conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in planning or aiding this incident.
In a complaint letter addressed to the Returning Officer for the Tumukuru Lok Sabha constituency, State JDS Legal Cell President AP Ranganatha stated that their actions had created enmity among women in the state, potentially leading to unrest and disrupting the meeting.
He further alleged that these actions were aimed at instilling fear among party workers and voters to hinder the campaign of the former Prime Minister. Such actions seem aimed at creating fear among party workers and voters to hinder the campaign of the Deve Gowda, Ranganatha alleged.
"This entire incident happened with the instigation made by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Minister Rajanna who always instigate the people against Deve Gowda by creating enmity among women folks in the state to create unrest. With a sole motive to avoid the campaign by Deve Gowda by creating fear in the party workers and voters as well," the complaint read.
Despite obtaining due permission for the meeting, there was a significant security breach, and police officials present at the venue failed to implement adequate security measures, he said. As a result, Congress-supporting women managed to reach the stage where Deve Gowda was presiding, the legal cell president added.
The failure of the police officers to provide proper security is a grave concern and needs to be addressed promptly, Ranganatha said. Security lapses involving a person of the stature of a former Prime Minister cannot be taken lightly, he added.
"Therefore, immediate action against the police officials responsible for this security lapse must be initiated and conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in planning or aiding this incident," the JDS leader demanded.
He also sought suspension of the police officials present at the incident pending investigation and ensured that robust security arrangements were in place for all future meetings upon receiving permission.
