Declare complete loan waiver for farmers: Balasaheb Thorat to Maha govt

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Former minister Balasaheb Thorat today attacked the Mahayuti government, saying it is duty bound to keep its promise of loan waiver to farmers.
He said the government's stance to stop the hunger strike started by farmers leader Bachchu Kadu for farmer loan waiver and other important demands should not be seen as a betrayal of farmers again.
Before coming to power, this (Mahayuti) government had promised to waive loans to farmers in its first cabinet meeting. It is the government's moral and political duty to keep this promise, and instead of playing the gimmick of setting up a committee, the government should announce a complete loan waiver, Thorat demanded.
