CPI(M) State leaders memorial tombs disfigured at Payyambalam in Kannur

Kannur, Mar 28 (UNI) Four memorial tombs of late CPI(M) State leaders, including former Chief Minister E K Nayanar, former State secretaries Chadayan Govindan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CITU leader O Bharathan, set up by the party workers at Payyambalam, were found defaced by unidentified persons, on Thursday.
Town Police rushed to the spot after the reports came to light and found that black colour polish "chemical solution" poured on the names of the three tombs and the miscreants mostly disfigured the granite facade of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
Police registered a case in this connection and started an investigation to nab the persons behind it, by checking the CCTV visuals.
