Bengaluru, Apr 20 (UNI) Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Bengaluru here on Saturday, tensions have escalated between the Congress party and the central government over the alleged non-release of relief funds to Karnataka.
Various Congress workers staged a protest against the central government, demanding answers on the delayed allocation of funds for drought relief and development projects in the state.
Despite the police denying permission for the protest, several Congress workers were detained during the demonstration. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar commented on the situation, stating that while the Prime Minister has the right to campaign, he must also address the concerns raised by the state regarding the allocation of funds.
