Cong expels its leader for supporting BJP nominee

Lucknow/Rampur (UP), Dec 1 (UNI) Congress leader and former minister Nawab Kazim Ali Khan alias Naved Miyan was on Thursday expelled with immediate effect from the party after he announced support to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in by-poll for Rampur assembly seat.
Member of Congress disciplinary committee and former MLA Shyam Kishore Shukla in his letter said that it has come to the knowledge that Naved Miyan has announced to support BJP candidate which comes into the purview of gross indiscipline.
In his letter sent to Naved Miyan, Shukla has stated, "Keeping this in view you are being expelled from Congress party for six years with immediate effect."
