CM Kejriwal to remain in judicial custody till May 7

New Delhi, April 23 (UNI) A Special Court in Delhi on Tuesday extended judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha till May 7 in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
They were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Special Judge Kaweri Baweja extended their custody after they were produced through video conferencing (vc) on expiry of their judicial custody.
Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was arrested by ED on March 15, while Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21. The court has extended the judicial custody of Kavitha in both the cases registered by the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) .
Special Judge Baweja Monday rejected Kejriwal's application seeking daily 15 minutes of medical consultation with his doctor. The judge directed that necessary medical treatment be provided and in case of requirement of any special consultation, Tihar jail authorities should consult a medical board consisting of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences doctors.
