United Nations, June 29 (UNI/Sputnik) China is very concerned about NATO's new strategic concept and urges the alliance to reconsider its posture, the Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations Zhang Jun said during a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
"China pays close attention to NATO's strategic adjustment and is deeply concerned about the policy implications of the so-called strategic concept," Zhang said on Tuesday.
China also urges NATO not to create a new Cold War nor create a scapegoat out of Ukraine for its actions in that country.
"We urge NATO to learn its lessons and not to use this crisis in Ukraine as an excuse to stoke worldwide block confrontation or a new Cold War," Zhang said.
China has argued for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and supports negotiations between Kiev and Moscow.
