CG Foundation India, MATEE sign MoU to foster development of regional ecosystems

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) CG foundation India and MATEE (Mapping and Action in Traditional and Ecological Ecosystems) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly identify pockets and clusters of cultural and natural heritage ecosystems fostering sustainable development of regional ecosystems through local creative and cultural industries and ecological practices.
Through the collaboration, CG foundation India and MATEE will aim at strengthening local ecosystems based on community capital such as traditional knowledge and economic systems, creative skills, green and local material, common spaces and sites.
A total of Rs 30 crore will be infused through the support of various Government agencies and Institutions towards reaching out to close to 10,000 Indian families of traditional and tribal communities in the marginal section across the country.
MATEE Founder Ankush Seth said, ''The premise of this intervention will be the existing natural and cultural context in the ecosystem. The linked materiality, its uses and possibilities of innovations therein will form the core of the exercise. It will aim to fuel generation of collective wealth and new livelihoods at the bottom of the pyramid by aggregating data, innovation, markets and programming at the door steps of actual keepers of our tangible and intangible Heritage.''
MATEE will set up centres that will facilitate vocational learning and resource dissemination, common facility centers, co-working and engagement, doubling as attractive local tourist destination and creative residencies.
CG Foundation India Chairman Binod Chaudhary on the occasion remarked, that ''CG Foundation is happy to associate with MATEE and is proud to be called World’s first Corporate Ecosystem that is harnessing South Asia’s soft power towards Sustainable Development Goals. The collaboration will help co-create an eco-system of craft and cultural clusters for poverty alleviation through culturally sensitive methods.''
MATEE, which is being incubated by Development Alternatives, is the world's first social enterprise dedicated to sustainable development, according to a statement here.

Century Plyboards Q3 net profit up 48 pc at Rs 97 3 cr in FY22

Hyderabad, Jan 28 (UNI) India’s leading plywood company, Century Plyboards (India) Ltd. On Friday reported its Profit After Tax (PAT) increased 48 per cent atRs 97.3 crores in the third quarter ended December 31, 2021 as against Rs 65.9 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Net Revenue from operations for the Third Quarter was Rs 848 crore, an increase of 30 per cent over corresponding period of last financial year (Rs 654 crore), the company said in a statement here.
