Ottawa/New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya on Wednesday posted on social media that Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has released a video demanding that Arya and Hindu Canadians “go back to India".
In a post on X, Arya said that Pannun of Sikhs for Justice released the video after the Canadian MP condemned the vandalization of a Hindu temple in Edmonton by Khalistani supporters in Canada.
Arya said that Hindus “have come to our wonderful country Canada from all parts of the world. From every country in South Asia, many countries in Africa and Caribbean, and many other parts of the world, we have come here and Canada is our land.
“We have made and continue to make immense positive and productive contribution to the socio-economic development of Canada. With our long history of Hindu culture and heritage, we have enriched the multicultural fabric of Canada.”
He said that Canada is “being polluted by Khalistani extremists” who abuse the freedoms guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights.
A day ago, the Hindu temple BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton was vandalized for the second time by Khalistani extremists. It was defaced with graffiti against PM Modi and Indo-Canadian MP Arya, with the words “PM Modi, MP Arya Hindu terrorist are Anti Canada”.
In a post on X, Arya said yesterday: “During the last few years, Hindu temples in Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada are being vandalized with hateful graffiti.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs for Justice last year publicly called for Hindus to go back to India.
“Khalistan supporters publicly celebrated in Brampton and Vancouver the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and brandishing images of deadly weapons.
“As I have always been saying, Khalistani extremists seem to get away with ease with their public rhetoric of hate and violence.
“Again, let me put on record. Hindu-Canadians are legitimately concerned.
“Like a broken record, I again call on Canadian law enforcement agencies to take this issue seriously before these rhetorics get translated into physical action against Hindu-Canadians,” he posted.
Chandra Arya is a Liberal member of Parliament and known for raising his voice against the Khalistani extremists in Canada. He is member of Parliament for Nepean.
In January 2023, another Hindu temple, Gauri Shankar Mandir was desecrated by Khalistani extremists in Brampton City in Ontario. The walls of the temple were defaced with anti-India graffiti.
