Budget shows Maha to play major role in PM Modi's vision of developed India: Shinde

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) Reacting over presentation of first interim budget for the year 2024-25 by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday in the Maharashtra Legislature, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that this budget shows that the state will play a major role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India.
He further said that all the weaker sections, farmers, women and youth have been considered in this.
He also said that this budget will provide for necessary expenditure for development work in the state in next four months.
It will go ahead to fulfil the dream of one trillion dollar economy of Maharashtra, he informed.
The Chief Minister said that the decision to set up Maharashtra Bhavan in Ayodhya and Jammu-Kashmir and provision of Rs 77 crore for it is encouraging.
It is the policy of the state government to provide maximum assistance to farmers in agricultural sector and concessions are also being given for drought, he said.
By making substantial provision for tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, public works department, these works will start faster in the state, he said and pointed that it has also given priority to the works of railway lines in the state.
He also said that by allocating funds to the corporations started for various weaker sections, their works will be expedited.
The Chief Minister also welcomed the decision to set up Marathi language sub-centres in Belgaum and Goa, and conservation of various temples, shrines, Gadkot fort in the state.
Due to provisions of the budget, at least one lakh women in each district will be directly benefited from various government schemes under the Chief Minister's Women's Empowerment Mission, added Shinde.
