BRS working President KTR criticises central govt over NEET UG exam issues

BRS working President KTR criticises central govt over NEET UG exam issues

Hyderabad, Jun 16 (UNI) BRS Working President and former Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the central government for its handling of the NEET UG exam, claiming that confusion surrounding the examination has dashed the hopes of many aspiring medical students and their parents.

KTR condemned the government for inaction despite reports of NEET question papers being sold for up to Rs. 30 lakhs each in Bihar, with several arrests already made. He accused the central government of neglect and a lackadaisical attitude toward the NEET exam from the beginning.

KTR pointed out that despite numerous allegations and suspicions, the Modi government has not responded, which he found unacceptable. He questioned why the Prime Minister, who often engages with students about exams, has remained silent on the NEET issues.

In an open letter to the NDA government, KTR demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible. He also called for reassurance to be given to students and their parents.

KTR highlighted the unprecedented scenario of 67 students achieving the first rank in NEET and noted that eight students from the same center scored 720 marks each, suggesting significant paper leakage. He criticized the early announcement of results, coinciding with election results, which added to the suspicions.

KTR demanded an explanation from the central government for not taking action despite the gravity of the situation. He criticized Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for claiming everything was in order. KTR emphasized that despite numerous complaints, the central government has not responded until the Supreme Court intervened.

KTR also criticized the awarding of grace marks to 1,563 students, demanding clarity on the criteria used. He called for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations of paper leakage and demanded strict action against those involved.

He urged MPs from Telangana to ensure that the state's students do not suffer due to NEET irregularities and demanded immediate action from the central government to address the issue and provide clarity. KTR emphasized that the issue affects several competitive exams conducted under the NTA's supervision, which could lead to a loss of trust among students. He reassured that the BRS would fight for the rights of affected students.
