Rampur (UP), Dec 1 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of committing atrocities on the poor and the farmers and said that injustice was done with Mohammad Azam Khan by filing false cases.
Addressing a public meeting for SP candidate Asim Raja in by-poll for Rampur assembly, Akhilesh said, "SP people follow the law and the Constitution and are fighting with the scope of the Constitution. Those sitting in power do not care about the law and the constitution. They are neither following the law nor the Constitution."
He appealed to the people to take whatever risk they have to take and oust Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power with the power of their votes. He said that those who were defeated by the public in the Panchayat elections grabbed the seat through deceit.
Appealing to the people to ensure SP's victory in Rampur by-polls, Akhilesh said that change will come in 2024 and after that the BJP government will not survive in Uttar Pradesh. "Rampur by-poll is not just an election for an assembly seat, it is an election to shake the BJP government," he said.
He said, "Those sitting in the power and are doing injustice towards the people should not force us so that when we come to power we are forced to take a similar action that they are doing."
Akhilesh said, "The file of the current Chief Minister came in front of me when I was the CM, but I returned it. We socialists do not do the kind of politics these people are doing. The BJP government is doing injustice and atrocities at every level. In Lakhimpur Kheri, farmers were crushed under the wheels by the BJP leaders and workers."
