Biden lands in SKorea

Seoul, May 20 (UNI) US President Joe Biden on Friday landed at Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea for his first summit, since he took office, with his counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol on wide range of issues including North Korea's nuclear program.Biden's visit came as both countries believe a North Korean nuclear or intercontinental ballistic missile test is imminent and could happen while he is in South Korea or Japan, the second leg of his tour, Yonhap News Agency said in its report.
The two leader will meet again on Saturday for their first summit to discuss the full range of security and economic challenges facing the allies and the region.Threat of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs will be top among them and the two sides are expected to discuss ways to bolster their combined defence and deterrence, Yonhap reported.
\\"(The summit) will be an opportunity for the relationship between South Korea and the US to become more solid and transition to an alliance covering a broader range,\\" Yoon told reporters earlier Friday.The visit also came only 10 days after the South Korean President took office.
