Australian pacer Mitchell Starc steps away from Champions Trophy squad

Melbourne, Feb 12 (UNI) Mitchell Starc has made a sudden decision to withdraw from Australia’s squad for the Champions Trophy, citing a private matter.
Starc cited “personal reasons” for his decision and left Sri Lanka before two ODIs as the under-strength final squad for the tournament was confirmed with Steve Smith as captain, according to a News. com.au report.
Starc’s shocking move, after playing seven Tests in a row, including five against India and two in Sri Lanka, came after Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitch Marsh were also ruled out, while Marcus Stoinis retired from ODI cricket last week.
