Assam CM inaugurates the Botanical Garden in Guwahati

Guwahati, Oct 1 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday inaugurated the Botanical Garden, which has been newly developed on the old jail premises at Fancy Bazar area in Guwahati for Rs 58 crore.
It is noted that on August 17, 2021, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone of the Garden. The project was executed by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority ( GMDA). The work on the project of the garden started on 19 January 2022.
The Assam government has given more importance to the botanical gardens as compared to the park. This garden will be known as a beautiful botanical garden in the next two years, Sarma remarks.
