Appropriate funding couldn't be released due to lack of coordination with J&K Admin: Rijiju

Srinagar, Feb 17 (UNI) Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Monday said that there were some issues in coordination between his Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir administration so that that appropriate funding could not be provided.
He said due to this, the appropriate funding which was supposed to be released could not be provided.
Rijiju was talking to media persons in Gulmarg on Monday.

The Minister said there have been issues when it comes to coordination between Jammu and Kashmir administration and Ministry of Minority Affairs.

“The Ministry is ready to help to augment the health sector, education, sports, local handloom and handicrafts through various schemes in the coming period”, he said.
The Minority Affairs Ministry will also provide support to construct water projects at various places of Jammu and Kashmir. Besides there are provisions of providing skill training in the Ministry also.
He said he held a review meeting with officers of the Social Welfare Department, Jammu and Kashmir to accelerate the Schemes under PM Jan Vikas Karyakram in the state.
Rijiju said that there are two main schemes-- Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) by which there is a provision to release funds under major infrastructure and another is Pradhan Mantri Vikas (PMV) focusing on training and skilling.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that the officer here said that schemes of 18 districts have been put forth and those will be put in priority list for their sanction by the Ministry. The Chief Secretary will clear the projects and will discuss with the ministry for their perusal.

“We are ready to provide a record number of schemes to Jammu and Kashmir this time”, Rijiju said.

He said there are provisions with the ministry for the upliftment and training for the expert craftsmen in Kashmir including Carpet weavers, furniture, Shawls and Pashmina shawl weavers and their families.

In reply to a question, he said “India is itself a big market for Kashmir traders and various articles could be exported to other countries”.
