AP: Woman tries to commit suicide over property dispute

Kakinada, Jan 22(UNI) In a family dispute over sharing of landed property, a woman allegedly made an attempt to commit suicide by dousing herself in petrol and setting herself ablaze in Bendamurlanka village in Konaseema region on Saturday.

However, the timely action of her husband who threw her into the adjoining field channel doused the flames and saved her from serious burns. She was shifted to a hospital with severe burns, police said. The police who registered a case identified the woman as Kotikalapudi Prasanna.
