AP: 17.30 cr worth cash, liquor, valuables seized under election code

Kakinada, April 15 (UNI) As a part of the effective implementation of election model code, Rs. 17.30 crore worth of cash, liquor, and other valuable articles were seized during the intensive raids conducted through the election seizure management system from March 16 to April 15 in Kakinada district.
Disclosing this to media persons here on Monday, district Collector J Nivas said that the seized goods include 2,26,213 grams of narcotic substances worth Rs. 13.40 lakhs, 60,044 grams of silver and gold articles worth Rs. 14.14 crores, 1,40,419 litres of liquor worth Rs. 1.35 crores, Rs. 1.37 crores in cash, and Rs. 30.51 lakhs worth of other valuable articles meant to lure the voters.
The Collector further said that enforcement departments, flying squads, and static surveillance teams have conducted these raids.
