AICWA calls for a ban on India's Got Latent

Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced an industry wide boycott of comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show, "India's Got Latent" following the MASSICE uproar against the owner of YouTube channel 'Beer Biceps' Ranveer Allahabadia's contentious remarks.
The association also announced a boycott of its creators, demanding the immediate shutdown of the show.
The controversy erupted after Allahabadia's remarks about parents and intercourse sparked a major backlash across social media. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has already raised concerns over the incident and now AICWA has intensified the pressure by issuing a strongly worded statement, according to a report by Pinkvilla.
AICWA 's official statement, released on X (formerly Twitter), denounced the episode in question, calling Allahabadia's comments "unleashed abhorrent and vile statements that are deeply disrespectful to our societal and family values. Such disgraceful content is utterly unacceptable and poses a significant threat to the moral fabric of our society."
The statement further read, "The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemns the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent,” hosted by Samay Raina."
It then declared that they are officially boycotting India's Got Latent. "We call upon all actors, filmmakers, directors and technicians to immediately cease any collaboration with individuals involved in this show, including host Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia. Henceforth, these individuals will receive no support from the Indian film industry," the statement read.
The controversy has even drawn political attention, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledging the public outcry and assuring that action will be taken against Allahabadia. UNI XC SSP
