5 teens face terror charges in Sydney bishop stabbing case

Canberra, April 25 (UNI) Police in Australia have initiated terror charges against five teenagers aged from 14 to 17 for following a violent extremist ideology as they investigate into an April 15 stabbing of a bishop in a Sydney church.
All five were in police custody and were scheduled to appear before a children’s court on Thursday, Australian news media reports said.They were among seven boys arrested across southwest Sydney on Wednesday in a major Joint Counter-Terrorism operation involving both the federal and state police besides the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, among others.
Two boys aged 16 and 17 have been charged with conspiring to engage in or planning a terror act, a police statement said. The older boy has also been charged for carrying a knife in public, it said.
