4 people charred to death after bus catches fire in Pune

Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) Four people were charred to death while five others sustained burn injuries after a minibus caught fire in Pune’s Hinjewadi area on Wednesday, police said.
According to details, the vehicle was ferrying 12 employees of Vyoma Graphics from Warje to Hinjewadi, and during the journey it caught fire near the HIA office around 7:30 am.
Several employees managed to escape from the bus; however, four people lost their lives, and five sustained injuries. Reportedly, the bus had caught fire due to an engine malfunction.
Some of the employees couldn’t come out from the front door, while another door on the rear side didn’t open, resulting in the deaths,” said Kanhaiya Thorat, senior police inspector at Hinjewadi police station.
The injured have been rushed to Ruby Hall Clinic, where they are undergoing treatment. Officials stated that the driver of the bus is also seriously injured.
Hinjewadi Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad said the bodies were removed from the vehicle, and the injured were rushed to the hospital for medical care.
